New threats against restitution leader Raúl Palacios

Paramilitaries spread word that the well-known land restitution leader should stop denouncing their actions. Our Peace and Justice Commission became aware of the threat today. According to the information we received, one of the paramilitaries, named “Dario”, warned that he would no longer tolerate the denunciations. “This is the last warning,” was the message that the criminal structure sent.

With the threat, they told him that he should meet them in Belen de Bajirá.
The pre-candidate of the families of the community councils, to be the legal representative, has received threats on several occasions.

The paramilitaries who have protected the interests of the palm, cassava, banana, and cattle businesses maintained that they have had many relations with the Attorney General in Bogotá that make them aware of the denunciations.
