OPEN LETTER TO NATIONAL LIBERATION ARMY-ELN

We are sons and daughters of love and in the life given to us the war appeared.

From this time of the memories that transform, we write to you so that together, in the truth we can make a new country a country without violence based on social, environmental, legal and gender justice.

We participated with you in all the scenarios of discussion table in the previous government, when we were invited and when it possible, trying to bring forward very concrete humanitarian proposals and initiatives to achieve a democracy with socio-environmental justice.

We have followed your various public interventions on social media. The reality of our territories leads us to affirm that war must stop.

We fully understand your distrust of the murders of former FARC EP combatants, of the killing of social leaders and students in the cities who are protesting for an inclusive democracy, respectful of human rights and ecosystems: our waters, rivers, swamps, forests, wastelands and our air. Even so, it is necessary progress towards peace. We are saddened by the death of its members, as well as those of each group that take up arms, in different regular and irregular groups and all kinds of injustices.

Recognizing its valid reasons, today we believe it is a time to strengthen peace with generosity and creativity. verify in the ground their willingness to build peace, while the government may be willing to dialogue and build a new democracy with peace and justice.

We have learned that peace includes all without distinction. Or else, as we say in our lands, that peace is lame and tends to be failed. And it takes a government and a state spirit to make that possible. For this reason, we will continue to affirm peace.

peace will remain incomplete if any of the armed groups are excluded who defend, protect or secure democracy for those who want another democracy with opportunities. The consolidation of society in peace must include you.

Our proposal for a Simultaneous Global Humanitarian Agreement recognizes its safekeeping of the progress in the table discussion, which is on pause, it was delivered to the United Nations Security Council, Geneva to the ICRC and United Nations DH.

We invite you to engage in dialogue in this era of peace to initiate humanitarian agreements in accordance with the principles of respect for basic rights and humanitarian law. Our territories, even in the midst of war, and we in them are ready to build peace.
