OPEN LETTER GAITANISTA TO SELF-DEFENSE FORCES OF COLOMBIA-AGC

We are sons and daughters of love and in the life given to us the war appeared.

From this time of the memories that transform, we write to you so that together, in the truth we can make a new country a country without violence based on social, environmental, legal and gender justice.

Ending the V Festival of Memories #Somosgénesis (#wearegenesis) between 28 February and 1 March, we invite you to listen to this clamor of the soul and of history.

It’s over 23 years of violence where we have seen what we never imagined we would see of human beings: tortures, murders, disappearances, bombings, displacements, massacres, rapes.

Today we can reiterate that we are tired of war, that adults, women and men, we want to leave our children, young people and children, territories in peace, harmonized with the universe, life and with God.

We dream that one day everyone can have dinner together: wolves and lambs. Their ranks are made up of rural men and women. daughters and sons of the war and in the war. Even you who are your commanders who were born there in exclusion and the war.

You in a recent video, you expressed that you are not responsible for the murders of social leaders and you reject these facts.

Today we invite you to put yourselves in our situation and to dispose your will, mind and heart to build peace in our territories, ceasing all intervention in our community processes. respecting our women and children, our rules of life and coexistence and our ways of using and preserving our territories.

We must tell you that your dead and the dead on either side hurt us deeply ¡This must stop!

As expressed in the video, we invite you to advance in the respect for other rights such as freedom of expression, to avoid unnecessary armed confrontations among Colombians people.

We have learned that peace includes all without distinction. Or else, as we say in our lands, that peace is lame and tends to be failed and it takes a government and a state spirit to make that possible. For this reason, we’re going to keep walking.

Our proposal for a Simultaneous Global Humanitarian Agreement recognizes your video of 15 days ago and your communications on a website.

We invite you to engage in dialogue in this era of peace to initiate humanitarian agreements in accordance with the principles of respect for basic rights and humanitarian law. Our territories, even in the midst of war, and we in them are ready to build peace.
